It's supposed to be a slick, cool Durango, not an ordinary V8 SUV. All the missing items if added on would detract from the "cool" factor. I miss the rook rack. I'll probably try to activate the DRL feature in self-defense or add an LED set. I'll probably add the trailer hitch too. But right now the rear of my R/T looks as slick as the front, and roof without the rack looks just fine. Let's face it. It's hard spend so much and not have the practicality it could have, but I suppose that's exactly the point.

BTW, they would have to leave pre-drilled and rustproofed holes to mount a rack after the fact. That's 90 pct of the cost of putting the rack on in the first place.

Well, the factory roof racks on the durango's are slick with the stowable crossbars and they are very practical and I think they look 'cool' too. I just don't understand the point of not being able to get that as an option - even if you order from Dodge.
Just one more thing about big corporations that I will never understand.

Looks nice but pretty sure I read that the R/T roof was different than the standard Durango roof. Without major modification ie drilling and adding mounting points from the interior a rack like yours would be a no.

I get groceries all the time in my R/T!! Tow package with hitch is an available option on the R/T. They did a nice job with the hitch too. I have it on my R/T and love it. Nice to be able to add a bike/ski rack or tow a jet ski

The roof box is great for long stuff like his sticks. We can load up a lot of gear up there as well.
Hey I'm in the market to get the same rack you got. Don't like hauling lumber inside and risk scratching up the leather and interior. When you say you get them from the accessories catalogue do you mean the Thule catalogue or the mopar catalogue? Also do you know the name or model number or the rack? Thanks in advance.

I bought the roof rack through the Dodge dealer from the Mopar accessories catalog. I also had the dealer do the assembly and initial install so they had liability of any scratches! (they did a great job with no scratches)

Good luck!

+1. One reason I got the Citadel instead of an R/T is because I needed racks, and was tired of using aftermarket ones. The factory racks work great, and I love how they are integrated, and that they are quiet. I have never had aftermarket racks that didn't make a lot of noise. If it was an option on the R/T I would have gotten an R/T. Maybe they will see the error of their ways. Still haven't figured out how the roof is different or even why they would do that.
