I come Bearing Gifts..... For Some
Hello I am new to this forum but I downloaded the file on the first page and used it on my 2011 and it worked. When I first put in dvd it hung up on 0% and after five minutes I removed the radio fuse I think its M12 after about five minutes I put it back in turned radio on it asked if I wanted to update and after about 10-15 minutes it went through 3 updates HDD GPS and radio. It works really good the response time got a lot faster.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
NOTE: If the software update process is interrupted/aborted, the process should be
restarted.
1. Turn the ignition to ON with the engine not running.
2. Remove any USB sticks from the radio face plate.
3. Press the volume **** to turn the radio OFF.
4. Press the load button and insert the software update disc.
NOTE: It may take up to 5 minutes before this message appears.
5. When the prompt, “Update baseline data files on HDD?” appears, press YES.
NOTE: Do not cycle the ignition or adjust the radio (volume, channels, est.) during
the update process.
6. The radio will reboot and restart on it's own.
7. When the title of the screens reads, “Update Radio Software” appears, press YES.
8. This step is for RHB Nav, radios only. If the message “PND did not update!” appears,
your navigation software is already up to date. Press OK.
9. The radio will reboot and restart on its own. When it restarts it will reread the software
update disc again.
10. When the prompt, “Update baseline data files on HDD?” appears press NO.
11. When the prompt, “Update from 33.01.23 to 33.01.23” appears, are both software
numbers the same?

b. No>>> Press “Yes” perform the software upgrade again, proceed to Step #5.
12. Press the LOAD hard key on the face plate to remove the disc.
13. Press the LOAD button again to close the screen.
14. The update has been completed.
Hey Shaun thanks for your help.
I have a 2011 R/T I believe with a 430N and no problems updating whatsoever. I agree with the others that updated definitely more responsive to the touch (NAV) and the audio may be better as well. When I updated I did see it updated the audio processor so maybe there is some truth to that!

Quick update from me - dealer couldn't get it booted up and confirmed power and ground are working to the radio so they ordered a new refurb unit from the factory and will install it as soon as they get it in. Hey, at least it's free....
Agreed but why is it a refurbished one? I would think a new one is in order
If it works to enhance the performance that is good. I am going to post the instructions that go with the TSB above.

Look more up to date. Dodgecare any updates on this? I noticed on 2013 the 430n GUI looks more (for lack of a better word), nice.
UPDATE THIS IS FOR 2012 MY ONLY EVEN IF THE REST OF MY POST SAYS 2011. COULD CAUSE BRICKING OF YOUR RADIO IF YOUR NOT 2012. WE ARE WAITING FOR AN OK TO DO 2011 MY. PLEASE READ ENTIRE POSTS.
Ok so i found the update .iso for radios 430N RHB/RBZ 2011/2012 + Models. It is update 33.01.23 and it updates the radio software, garmin maps and other nav stuff, and some other firmware stuff that is buggy.
NOTE: IT SAYS THAT IT WORKS FOR THE RBZ BUT THE PEOPLE ON THE OTHER FORUM WITH RBZ RADIOS CLAIM THAT IT HASNT WORKED FOR THEM YET. JUST AN FYI USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
I just updated mine about an hour ago and it took less then 15 minutes via DVD Update.
Hopefully this isnt a double post as i havent seen anything like it.
Here is the link for the file to download, be aware that you will have to make a disc image and burn to a DVD or CD.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B399...ROSkxSYVk/edit
its my personal google drive and i will try to make sure it stays active for quite some time and anyone else willing to keep it up and active would be appreciated.

The radio's are in the process of being changed throughout all model lines. Enhancements that you see on the 2013 and above will not be able to be replicated on older models from what I am being told. In fact, as models are rolled out or refreshed, all will be going to the newer units that are currently being offered in the 2013 Rams and 2014 Grand Cherokee's. Eventually there will be the same 4 radio's offered on almost every vehicle. These will be the RA1,RA2,RA3, and RA4 models. They go from base, with no satellite or bluetooth, to HD mapping and a ton of other functionality on the high end units. These will include, remote lock unlock from smartphone or computer, remote start, wifi, theft alarm notification, Bing, voice texting, and thousands of other apps. Unfortunately, as fast as the landscape in radio units are changing, there will be little that will be added to the old units as many just do not that the hardware needed for many enhanced features.

He said these radios cannot be replicated in the older models, which means they will not work. It sounds like they are going to be tied into a lot more than just gps and sound.
As of right now, no. You will not even be able to replace the model you have in a 2013 Ram with a different unit other than the one that came in the truck. Now will someone figure a way around it in the future? Will Chrysler allow interchange ability in the future? I do not know the answer to that. I just want to make sure everyone is aware that when the model you are looking to get comes with an RA radio unit, make sure you get the one you want because the only upgrade available with the current units is the ability to add NAV to the RA3.
