Default Getting terrible gas mileage with Hemi AWD

I am just curious to see what everyone is averaging with their v8 hemi all wheel drive Durangos. I have been averaging around 12 miles per gallon with mostly city driving. That is with hand calculation. I am definitely a little disappointed with that. I know it varies depending on driving style. I definitely do not drive aggressively.

Getting ~13 mpg on the computer.... just did a full synthetic oil change. I was getting 12.4 AVG prior.. I'm at 3,500 miles right now. (Yes I did my first oil change early)

I'm at 15k miles on a '12 AWD Hemi running synthetic oil (since 2,500 miles) and a drop in K&N air filter. Yeah, mileage sucks, no surprise. But, it has gotten better since about 10k miles. I really haven't tracked mileage or looked at the computer much but on a recent road trip, 12 hours each way, it got 21 MPG which I was thrilled with. And, that was with 5 passengers and every ounce of luggage we could jam in to it.

I'd say 12-14 MPG around town is about right. I've also noticed a significant improvement in off the line performance and overall drive'ability as I've added miles to the odometer. Especially since 10k miles. I guess it just took a while to break it in.

I drive very aggressive and fast, time = money..(..just not reckless!)

So that said, I get 10-11 mpg on the street, and 11-14 highway (dropped about 1 mpg since I changed to 22" wheels)

I dont drive in "D" which I think keeps my r/t from using ECO mode and shutting cylinders or maybe I'd do better MpG's

I have 2500 miles, just did 1st oil change (full syn), mostly 93 & some 89 octane gas

I'm the same as CMil. 12-14 around town and 19-20 on the highway.

Also, what area are you located? Colder weather will kill some MPGs.

I have 12k on the car and been using the Mopar CAI since about 1k miles and synthetic oil since 3500 miles (I didn't change it early, the light came on at 3500 and said it needed changed).

5500 Lb vehicle = not much you can do. X2 on winter gas if you are somehwere cold; my S4 right now is averageing 12ish MPG city vs 14-15 in the summer time, same with the Durango.

15/16 in town when I drive, 13/14 when my wife drives, tried to show her that the difference is I keep it under 2k rpm's, but she refuses to let anyone pass her from a stop light. Wonder if the Trinity would allow me to lower the rev limiter to 2k, then she wouldnt have a choice, any thoughts?
