2013 R/T New Member
Hi, ya'll. Just joined today. Had an '00 SLT 360 which went to the kids at 100+k on the clock. Understand it is still running around Galveston with over 150k on it now. Traded an '08 RAV4 commuter box for the R/T Dec 29 with 4400 on the clock. Gen mgrs car. Got a nice discount. Put 1k on it since then and it is running like it should. Have surfed this forum for a while and have some questions for which I could not find complete answers:
1) Lifetime warranty - I would consider buying one. Mopar site says $3,100 suggested retail. Has anyone purchased it and if so for how much? Nearby dealer is trying to sell me "their" lifetime warranty which seems to be very restrictive about where work can be performed.
2) DRL's - Has anyone managed to activate them on an R/T just by reprogramming?
3) Cargo net and cargo area cover - should they have been standard equipment on the R/T? Where would the net attach on the driver side upper? Don't see any place for it to do so.
Hope to be able to contribute with solid replies if I see similar issues to ones I may have in the future. BTW, I am a founding member of The Woodlands Car Club in (surprise) The Woodlands, TX. Our "Cars and Coffee for a Cause" is the first Sunday of every month at Market Street from 0900 to 1100. We get some new Mopar products now and then (overrun with new Stangs and Camaros). I'll be there this Sunday with my '67 GTO.

PJW,
Welcome and congrats!!!
As far as the lifetime service contract goes I would suggest getting a Mopar Vehicle Protection Maximum Care plan on the vehicle if you are going to buy one. I have talked to customers who have purchased aftermarket lifetime plans with not so stellar results. I also suggest getting a $100 deductible and shopping around for your best deal. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
Congrats on the purchase. My Citadel came with a cargo cover but I removed it when I got home from the dealership, never used beyond that. It's sitting next to the one for my previous Highlander that I don't even own anymore. Never used that one either.
Be careful with those warranties. A family member purchased one that was suppose to be lifetime but he didn't realize it was only up to the value of the vehicle at the time of the repair. So by the time his transmission went out at 90k, they said the vehicle was only worth $5,000 and that he had already used $4,000 in warranty since he had purchased it so they would only give $1,000 toward the $3,000 transmission (using round numbers). If the transmission had gone out earlier, while the vehicle was worth more, they would have covered more. Still, he paid like $2,500 for the warranty and got over $4k in repairs but it still didn't cover what the thought it would.

The only limitation on the Mopar Lifetime plan is that the plan will only pay for a repair up to what the vehicle is worth at time of repair. It does not add up all repairs over time to decide if a claim will get paid. I am not saying other plans may not work that way, but just wanted to clarify the Mopar plans do not work that way.

Yeah, I'd be willing to sell it. Anyone interested can private message me.
