Default To those in the Northeast...

From a hometown New Englander,

Good luck, stay safe, and get extra fuel for those generators.

For those of us that have AWD Durangos that have not seen but a hint of snow, could you guys go out in the deeper stuff and get us a decent review of the system?

Be safe obviously, but it would be nice to have a quality review under adverse winter conditions.

As it is, last week was the first time since manufacture that I was able to engage the 4 Low. Even that was just to 'exercise' it so it doesn't freeze in place from lack of use.

Absolutely.
I hate snow! BUT this time Im looking forward to testing out my awd...

I have said in other threads, only had my D for 3 weeks, saw 2 inches 3rd day and wasnt really impressed, I then found my tires were at 48lbs, rather than the suggested 33, so I gottem all at 33 and check manually and with the TPS system, all four are at 33lbs.
Plan to take it out a few times and get a better idea of handling in the snow...

Just a couple weeks ago had a couple of snow storms that rolled through in N. Utah and dumped 7-8 inches of snow, went to work those days the city streets and freeway hasn't been cleared....drove through that mess and was moving pretty darn good (didn't put the system in low at all). The AWD system works good only the tires are crap imo I detected a little slippage when I pushed the D a little harder.

The 7-8 inches we had in my location was the most significant I was able to test the AWD since I bought the D in April 2011.

We've been getting plenty of snow here in the snow belt of northern ohio since late December. We drive our AWD Hemi in the snow and ice regularly with no issue. I had planned to throw on a set of winter tires, but so far the stock all-season tires have been doing just fine - maybe because they're still pretty new. I'll probably wait until next season to swap over to winter tires. The roads get packed down pretty quickly here, but the D has been around in 7-8 inches without any problems. Get some occasional slippage from the all-season tires, which I expected, but nothing significant.

I have the Goodyear Forteras that came stock on my R/T. I fully expect to replace them with Blizzaks next winter, but they have been doing a decent job so far.
