That's kind of a bummer, I thought the OEM screen had the a/c controls built into it? You can see them in this pic:

That was my concern that they would tell you it was the same as oem then short change you, if your happy with it so be it but I would raise a stink personally.

The OEM unit does have the a/c controls built in. Sounds like they're adding aftermarket instead.

If they are trying to charge you for the OEM package for an aftermarket unit, I'd do the same... I wouldn't pay more than $500 for the aftermarket addition (parts and labor).... But if the dealer is within the price range I just mentioned and you are fine without the A/C controls in the rear I would just let it ride. Afterall, I've mentioned in other threads that the resolution is horrible on the OEM unit... it really pixelates anything you watch on it.

You will also need to consider that the OEM allows for the different sources to be played through the infrared headsets (2 different channels)... so a backseat rider can listen to SAT, AM/FM, DVD, HDD, or AUX sound settings all through the VES system.

Here are pictures of my factory installed OEM unit:

Good luck!

I would pay $500 max, that wasn't what you were promised at all. BTW my oem unit functions perfectly and I haven't noticed any pixalation.

Maybe I'm just picky about the resolution... but if you pop in a DVD and watch it on the 730n screen then move to the rear monitor you can see a significant drop in pixel count. Colors look washed out to me too.. but I'm a pretty big freak about those kind of things.

Oh no... Audiovox That's a walmart brand electronics. I'm not trying to make you feel bad, I just want you to be aware of what kind of value you're getting and that they misled you by telling you were getting OEM.
