Newbie, Joining the Mopar family, my new ride!
I posted Last week that I was looking at purchasing a new Durango and I pulled the trigger and purchased it. I drove four hours to Crisswell Dodge in Gaithersburg, MD after negotiating what I believed to be a very good deal (none of the local dealers would come close and even told me it was a scam just to get me down there) So, I purchased a 13' stone white R/T with these options: 730N Nav, tow package, black/black Leather, captain chairsecond row, second row center console, sunroof and whatever other changes were required to have those options. The sticker was 45,102.00 and after discounts and rebates it was 36,995.00. I also got the extended premium plus extended warranty with 72 month / 60,000 miles for 708.00 (dealer cost) vs 1600.00 retail. I also traded in my 07 Tahoe that was my DD for the past six years and they gave my 1500 more then I got offered locally.
I took delivery with the truck not even thru prep as I didn't want some young kid scratching it all up, plastic on the carpet and all. Drove the four hours home in the pouring rain, spent 10 hours over two days in the garage clay baring it, nano sealing and zaino waxing. I also pulled all the rotors scuffed them down and applied a nicecoat of caliper paint to help stop them from rusting so fast. So far I love this truck, ( I have owned 20 vehicles in the past 18 years, sometimes four at a time, and this truck is in my top five!
So I do have some questions:
1. Was my rango suppose to come with a cargo shade? I don't have one in my truck.
2. What is the best CAI for this vehicle: K&N, Voilant, Mopar, Airaid?
I will post a Photo as soon as I figure it out. haha
Thanks,
Tom P.

Congrats Tom...can't wait to see some pics! The R/T does not include the cargo cover but scan ebay I was able to find one relatively cheap. I run the volant set up in my ride and I'm very happy with it overall...good luck with whatever u choose!
CMil, Thanks brother, I really like your wheels, I'm thinking about those painted/powder coated in white to match my truck. I will do a search to see if anyone has done this or did a photo shop of it.
How do I post a photo? where do i find the URL?

Did you get a AWD or rear drive?
I picked up a rear cargo shade on ebay for $50.00 free shipping (used but in new condition).
I think the Mopar CAI is too expesive. Not too crazy with the Air Raid look.
I norrowed down to the Volant ($269.99 from DD Doubled Mods - Forum Vendor) or K&N 63-1563 ($253.00 from an on-line vendor).
I think the Volant is better looking but I wanted the open design offered by the K&N, so I purchased the K&N 63 Series.
Congrats on your new ride

AK,
Oh I did forget it's AWD !
I have used K&N for years, in fact all of the cars I have purchased received a drop in filter from them within the first week of ownership. I have the FIPK CAI system in my CTS-V and C5 Vette now and like them alot. But I do like that Volant has the lid to help prevent heat soak from the engine bay and will lean mor towards that one for this truck. The only reason for the Mopar one is they say it causes no red flags for the warranty.
I have now mastered the photo upload and will enjoy posting proud photo's of my new baby, HAHA

I think you should get the lifetime warranty. It's a bit more but it'd be worth it IMO unless you're thinking of getting rid of the vehicle in the next few years. The lifetime warranty was the main reason I decided to go dodge and trade in my Mercedes so that was more of a selling point for me than the vehicle itself.
