Default Will 285/45/22 Fit under the Rango

I am trying to work out the Viper reps and the tires I want are 285/45/22. I know the standard 22" tire is 285/40/22. Any of you guys that have bought them know there is not many options. I looked in the search bar and so far have not found anything. Thanks in advance.

The big advantage of the 40 series is the speedo will not be off. At 70 mph your speedo is only 1 mph off. Plus I can turn full lock both ways with no issues.

+1 to mj's comment and the 40 series offers a decent sized sidewall so you shouldn't have an issue.

Thank you guys, I am not good with tire sizes but what would be the size difference from a 285/45/22 and a 285/40/22. I want to get the same tires I had on my SS Trailblazer but they only make them in a 285/45/22.

Which tires? Most manufacturers list all specs on their sites... Your looking for overall diameter!

The 285/45 are 32.467" in diameter 11.63" wide
the 285/40 are 31.304" in diameter 11.63"wide
here is the known formula by tire manufacturers
Take first # divide that by 24.5=tire width, then take that number multiply by aspect ratio that=sidewall height. add sidewall height x 2 + rim diameter for overall diameter.
ex: 285/24.5=11.632, 11.63 x .40 = 4.652", 4.652" x 2 = 9.304" + 22"(rims) = 31.304"

Every manufacture is slightly different but this will keep you on track

These guys are spot on with their feedback. I'll offer a website I found that you can use to overlay your current tire over the new proposed tire size. It works really well!
