Default parking radar only on the rear?

I noticed that if I pull too far into the garage forward I am able to bump things without the radar going off. However, going in reverse the tail end radar tells me when things are near the rear bumper or rear corners and sides. Is the lack of front sensors intentional or am I doing something wrong? If there aren't any front sensors I might look into getting a curb alert unit. I have many cars so the ability to gauge the front end instinctively gets distorted every time I use a different car.

The front end collision sensors I believe are only available if you get the technology package... I believe it is called Forward Collision Warning.

I believe that is only for freeway driving.

Mg2012crew is correct. There is no front assist parking. Te forward collision warnin is for oncomin traffic, but could be a lifesaver.

I don't think it was meant for oncoming traffic, there's not much that will save you in that event. I think it's meant to prevent you from rear ending another vehicle.

My last post came through very mistyped as a result of my phone. However, you're correct. But I do believe it works for both from my understanding - pre charging the brakes at te very least.

Mine activated today around a sharp corner the oncoming driver was slightly in our lane, not anywhere of a unavoidable condition but it activated nonetheless

The collision avoidance system hasn't been perfect for me. It gets confused when someone in front of you pulls into the next lane and hits the brakes. I almost got rearended once, when I was behind someone at highway speeds, they pulled into the right lane and braked hard for a corner. My collision avoidance slammed on the brakes thinking they were still in front of me, and the guy tailgating me almost hit us. I've had this happen several times, though the subsequent times I hit the gas, disengaging the system. The system apparently takes 3+ seconds to decide someone has pulled out of your path, but it detects instantly if you're closing on them - whether or not they're still in front of you.

Also, if you're in the left interstate lane on a left curve and passing someone in the right lane with your cruise on, collision avoidance can get confused and slam on the brakes.

After being in the car for several false alarm braking episodes and at first thinking I was doing it, my wife thinks I should disable it. I'm torn since it could save me in a situation where I am coming up on someone too fast.
