Comprehensive on your insurance policy should pay the majority of it depending on what your deductible is. I take high deductibles on mine so I'm on the hook for things like windshield replacements, but a lot of policies have ACV to $250 deductibles. Worth a phone call IMO.

I think that post #8 needs to pay for my windshield
haha i bet your insurance will!!

99.9% of insurance policies have a 0 deductable on glass. USE IT! and it doesnt raise your rates

i have had a windshield replaced before. later the same day another chip happened! should i have held the glass company accountable since i had to get home from work?

I had a chip repair in the original windshield then the wife was driving and got another one that spidered and cracked about 6". Had it replaced at Safelite for about $329 or at least in the 300 range can't remember installed with the rain sensor windshield.

This past January, noticed a crack in my '11's windshield too. Took it to Safelite and they said it started with rock chip. Replacement with them was in the $350 range with rain sensing and headlight dimming features. They did the work, great job, not a problem since. Comprehensive covers glass breakage if you choose to use it. If you go to Mopar for factory replacement (where it says Mopar on the actual windshield) plan to spend upwards of $800 on replacement glass....not sure how insurance handles this if other options are less expensive. Didn't investigate that. Good luck.

I went through 2 windshields in 2 months. Both from rocks on the highway. First time was a hit right at the roof line (thankfully no body damage) that was a big crack from the get go. Second was just a pit that I put off since it was small, well first cold night it was cracked the whole way across. Cost me $100 bucks each time through Erie Insurance.

Had mine replaced for a rock chip a few months ago. I think it would have been about $300 if no insurance.
