Default Rear turn light housing - How to remove??

Hey has anyone needed to change the rear turn light yet? The owners manual say to remove the two push pins and then pull the housing out. I've pried at the pins without any luck. Any pointers are appreciated. Thanks!

Its a real pain in the *** to remove. I actually broke the pins and going to order new ones from dealer. I got the body panel remover from Autozone and with a little coaxing (little might be an understatement lol) and after they are removed just wiggle it a little and the 2 posts in the rear will come out and you can slide it out.

If you have to change out one side you might as well change out both sides (passenger and driver side). The other side went out a week later .

Have fun

It's fairly simple. Just pry horizontally under the heads of the pins with a somewhat thick flat screwdriver. They will pop up, then you'll end up spending most of your time trying to coax the housing it. I found it easiest to wrap the same screwdriver with a microfiber towel and then pry gently where the white and red parts meet on the light. You'll probably hear the top tab pop as you remove it from its tab. Make sure both tabs snap back in during reinstallation.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll try again and hopefully not break anything. I'm not sure why the light would even go out so soon. Mine's a 2012 citadel bought in November of 11'

Probably because the bulbs were manufactured in bulk in like 2000 when the bulb type was designed. Essentially, I think they are NOS so don't last. FYI, per my dealer, bulbs ARE warranted for 12 months so you may be able to have them do it, but I don't find the waiting worth it.

Yeah it was either pay for a $3 bulb myself or $4 gallon of gas to get to the dealer! lol
