Default Chr550 or lockpick v5

Hey Guys

Noticed some posts around with Lockpick V5 and the CHR550. I know the 550 seems like it shard to get, I know Dennis was working on group by, not sure where that is at. What is better to go with? Found a link on fleebay for $319 for chr550. Whats everyones preference. Also as usual whats install like including removing faceplates of dash etc without mangling things up? If someone has asked this before, sorry, not enough coffee to search the forum yet.

Thanks as always.

The CHR550 will display aux video on both the front display as well as a rear display (factory or aftermarket), where as the v5 only allows aux video on the front display. I found this out after a few customer service calls trying to get itune movies to play for the kids in the back seat.

Didn't you end up with the V5 Slaint?

Wht didn't you go with the CHR550?

I am trying to find the best deal on one now, but do like the sound of controlling the ipod thru steering wheel controls. I would have thought the stock radio would do that.

Went with V5 as I for two reasons, can use my galaxy and saving an extra $100 bucks just for a few controls. I can connect my iphone if I want using the APPLE A/V cables, but you can only see VIDEO APPS, not full phone etc.
I picked up V5 for $199 from here, cheper than the manufacturer. So for a few exrta bells and whistles not worth the extra money to me and dont ahve a rear DVD to worry about the extra iption to view in back etc. If you have backup camera its already integrated too, you dont need to do anything, can turn on when you are driving from stering wheel, pretty neat, works great.

I went with the NU-CHY2. It is a Pac Audio product that I got from Dennis from DD Mods. It works great and was super easy to install. I can now watch movies on the Nav screen and engage my back up camera while driving. Be careful that is kind of trippy. It took me about 10 minutes to install once I removed the faceplate.

Did you have to do anything with rear camera
This sounds like what I want I dont need all the other features of the lockpic. Just want the Nav to work while driving (wife entering of course) and she can watch movies with the kids.
Do you have factory rear DVD clifford?
I guess it still plays on both screens???

STEVE

Steve, I do have the rear DVD so we can watch the movie on the front and back. I believe the nav is a DVD player even without the rear Tv. Email Dennis at DD Mods and see what he can do for you. I have had it installed for 2 road trips and it is awesome.
