this is scary considering I have heard the DD is going to be phased out... whats the motivation to right the wrong at that point

I have never heard of a car being in the shop over 1 week for a part, unless it was in a wreck at a body shop. And I have 3 old cars, I am planning on trading in my 03 Jag AWD X-Type w 140K miles (runs near perfect btw) for a 14 DD R/T

The TIPM is a totally different, I have only see a handful of WINS failing from 08 models and up.

Yeah it was in the shop 4 times at 1 dealership and they never figured it out. I took it to another and they had it figured out within a few hours.

I am just glad it is fixed because it was about to be out the door.

Hey there, i just signed up trying to came with an answer for my problem... and thanks to you Im aware now.... my story:

Im form México and have a 2012 DD 6 cyl, everything cool until last month when I heard a noise coming from the back of the truck, when I tried to switch it on later, well, the battery was dead despite Ive changed it few weeks ago, I took it with a mechanic of my trust and he said the problem was the TIPM but he failed to get one here in México... I started to search for it here online (thinking it was a minor issue finding one) and just found out all this crappy situation, so I think Im doomed huh? We dont even have that kind of Lemon Law, shame on Dodge. =(

so next time you feel bad, think that you could be me, with this problem in Mexico JA

While on a road trip last night I had the whole instrument panel go dark and everything reset. Happened while on the highway dropping down from Henderson to Vegas.

Can't say if the headlights quit as well because my attention was drawn to the inside as everything went dark. And I was surrounded by other cars which kept the ground lit making it hard to tell.

Is this a problem that others have had when the TIPM was failing?

2013 RT with 3000 miles. Bought 11/13.

The TIPM has other functions, so there may be other failure scenarios, but the the primary issues reported on these forums are fuel pump related. I have not had a total failure of the TIPM, but my understanding is that there are two scenarios when the fuel pump relay in the TIPM fails; the fuel pump is stuck off and the D won't start - or it sticks on and the fuel pump runs until the battery is dead.

It has been reported that there is a redesigned TIPM in 2014 models which fixes the fuel pump relay problem, but no word on whether the new TIPM fits earlier models.

I just had my D at the dealership for the start/stall issue and they replaced the WIN module. The service guy said "So it acts like the key is dead." I said "No, starts then stalls and if I try to start it without cycling off it will just crank and not turnover." Needless to say I've had it back for a couple days and no issues yet just hoping it doesn't act up again. Anyone have their WIN module replaced and it solve the start/stall issue?

I have seen the WIN module replacement done a few times
If your D starts and then shuts down shortly after it could be the key was not communicating anymore

Default Bad TIPM?

We just purchased a 2011 Durango V6 (still has the intransits). This morning my wife went to leave for work and the front wipers wouldn't shut off. Back wiper doesn't work. Turn signals don't work. Radio controls on steering wheel don't work either. I pulled the fuse for the front wipers but as soon as I put it back in they continue to operate.

We've also noticed a few times where the instrument panel states something that the key isn't in the vehicle but it hasn't caused the car to shut off.

It's going to the dealership tomorrow but I'm worried they'll say the TIPM is on back order and will that actually fix these issues or will more bad things continue to happen to a vehicle we just purchased!?!

Hopefully, the dealership treats us good. I'm just glad we purchased the extended warranty.
