It really amazes me to no end how the dealer techs have no clue to the system.
1) The RBZ radio does not have anything to do with the Uconnect system other than play calls & media thru the stereo.
2) The Uconnect in this system is a completely separate module within this system.
3) In June of 2011,there was a TSB released (08-036-11 rev A) for a Uconnect SW update. This update was for the "error occurred" when an iPhone or iPod is connected to the docking cable. <please see the link below for the PDF file>
4) Your dealer says that everything is currently up to date on the SW, I would ask him to verify with the scan tool that the HFM has been updated by the change of PN on the HFM. The old PN would be 05064635AG, the new PN if it has been updated should be one of the following: 68140645AA, 68140646AA, 68140634AA, 68140636AA.
5) I'm going to bet that the Uconnect module has not been updated.

Thank you !!

Just forwarded this to the GM and head of the Service dept.

I AGREE!! I will let everyone know how this works out....Im sure this info just saved them $$ and solidifies my arguments I have had with them....and it will be nice to have a radio that works with my phone through the dock as opposed to BT.

When I was a tech, I learned as much as I could about the electrical accessories as I could so that when customers came in with a complaint that I would have a clue about how to diagnose it or explain to the customer what they may be doing wrong. These guys make good money and should have to keep up on things. I had webinars on products that were coming out and how they operate, they must still have them available to the techs especially with how much technology has changed since I was in the dealerships as a tech.

Alright, Finally spoke to the service department. They said they had done this update(supposedly it has been superseded) . They said to bring it in again and they will attempt it once more.

If this doesn't fix it would you suspect the Uconnect module?

Thank you again!

The 08-036-11 rev A has not been superseded by a newer TSB / SW update. That was the final 2011 SW update. Before the attempt the update, I would ask the service writer to grab the scan tool and show you the Uconnect (telematics) module PN and compare it to the ones that I listed, if it's not one of those, (these are listed in the TSB) then the update was not performed (or performed correctly).
I have helped a lot of people with this issue and have not had anyone come back and say that they still had the issue after the update. So I'll stand firm on my thought that it hasn't been done.

Have you yourself or the dealer performed the Uconnect SW update that has been released since June 2011? If not, are you interested in doing it? It's quite simple and I have a thread with the instructions and a link to the SW update file.
The thread is:
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/audio-v...date-info.html

This may help you out.
