Default Paint, Plasti-Dip or powder coat?

What's the best stuff for wheels. I've checked out several sites and come to the following conclusions:

A. Paint: Inexpensive but chips easily and not too durable

B. Plasti-Dip: Inexpensive, chip-resistent, semi-durable, but peels after awhile

c. Powder coat: Expensive ($125/wheel) but bullet proof.

Has anybody modded their wheels? What did you use and how does it hold up? Thanks for any response.

Orin,

I have done both Plasti-dip and powder coat on my truck.

1. plasti-dip is great stuff people are dipping their whole cars and wheels with great success. I have only done my grill and emblems but it is holding up very well. I power washed my truck this morning with zero issues and used pre-wax cleaner on the white dip today which did not cause it to peel impressive!

2. I had my wheels powder coated, 100 bucks each and although I have some pitting which occurred during the heat process they look awesome, clean very easy and are tough as nails.

3 Factory wheels are mostly painted and hold up well but scratch easy and will hold brake dust easier They also cost the same to paint as PC.

Powder coat comes in tons of colors so I say PC is the best option unless you want to change the color often or do a test color before PC then dip them.

My first choice would, of course, be powder coating, but the cost is high and that irritates my bowels. I know I can try paint or Plasti-Dip and go to PC if either of those fails to satisfy me. However, I plan to do this job BEFORE I put the wheels on, so obviously I'd like to get it right the first time.
I agree the PC is a killer look and would work best for the long term. I just gotta calm my bowels, bite the bullet, and take it like a man. :-)
(( Hey, three cliche's in a row, is that a record here? :-) ))
Thanks for the comments and photos!

I had my wheels powdercoated. Local business here did it ofr $60 a wheel. But, I had tires mounted so I had to dismount and remount, the pressure sensors have to be removed prior to baking and in the removal process broke one of the sensors broke.....

$400 or less to get it done right seems like little cost to me.

My plan was to powdercoat too and three quotes at reputable companies all quoted $100 a wheel. But my wife insisted " you are not painting your wheels, it will look tacky", hence I have the repo's
