Ok, Im stepping off of my soapbox....

I agree in part. Audi did start it all, but I still love the look of the LED DRL. They are getting much more common but companies are still changing the look. Check out the new Range Rover Sport. They are not just a single strip of LEDs. ON the RR, they follow the contour of the headlights and look very refined.

That seems to be what you are getting now. Just simple strips of LEDs on lower end cars and more elaborate designs within the headlights on upper end cars.

Mercedes is another example. They went from the look that the OP got his LED design from to more elaborate swoosh designs within the headlights.

I love where newer designs are taking the simple LED DRL.

^ nice picture! I wouldn't say Audi started it all .. I'd say BMW did with their halo lights ... Audi just did a better job of it

I'm leaning towards negative on these. Like fishandgrits says, it doesn't flow very well, and the owner runs the risk of too many lights. As shown, the DD has FOUR lighting sources -- headlights, parking, fogs, and LEDs -- in three colors, white, amber and yellow. Its bordering on an overload of styles, colors, and technique.

That's why I bought some LED Switchbacks from autoilumination.com which are mounted where the flashers are. They flash yellow but switch to really bright white LED when lights switched on. They are really bright and I use them as DRL's. During night I switched them off. I need to find a way to dim them somehow in night mode. But this way you don't have to change anything. If you want to drive with them even with headlights on you even don't have to tweak the harness. Just switch on parking lights and they are activated...

Yes, exactly there. Don't forget to buy also some ballasts. Otherwise your flashers will be flashing to fast and you'll get the "bulb out" message in the evic....
Also keep in mind to not buy the strongest ones as the light will spread wide and high. This area is used for flashers or parking lights normally and they will spread the light widely but are not that bright. You could get a lots of high beams because its maybe really to bright. My LEDs are brighter than my Xenons! :-)
