Want a new Black R/T Durango
how do you know you were $500 under invoice? did they show you the invoice?
Im looking for one with the 2nd row bench and not the tumle captains (need the cargo space) Im guessing you got the technology group option. What does that option have over the standard features?
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop
- Advanced Brake Assist
- Blind Spot and Cross Path Detection
- Forward Collision Warning Plus
requires the nappa group that gives you this
- Automatic High Beam Headlamp ControlHeadlamps use a sophisticated microprocessor that automatically and quickly adjusts high-beam brightness and intensity, depending on surrounding nighttime light sources or traffic.
- Cargo Compartment Cover
- Cargo Net
- Floor Console with Leather Armrest
- Leather-Wrapped Door Panels
- Lux Leather-Trimmed Bucket Seats
- #4 Seat Foam Cushion
- Perforated Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel
- Power Tilt / Telescope Steering Column
- Pwr 8-Way Driver Seat w/Memory and 8-Way Pass Seat
- Rain Sensitive Windshield WipersRain sensitive windshield wipers automatically deploy when sensors on the windshield detect moisture.
- Ventilated Front Seats

Anyone here recently purchase a new R/T? Looking for a Black 2014 without the 2nd row tumble captains chairs and they have been really hard to find here in South Fl. What are some of your experiences with prices paid? Anyone get one below invoice? Anyone have any experience ordering one from the dealer? What kind of process would that entail?
Thanks
Thanks
Yes it sucks to wait, but it's a brand new car, why wouldn't you order one that you want with everything you want. If you just want to settle, then buy used. Purchasing one off the lot that the dealer has negates the whole reason for buying new in the first place in my opinion. Plus, you don't know the story of the vehicle. Lots of dealers and their porters may have had some fun with the hemi engine (easy to do with the 2014 R/T) and test drivers may have beat the heck out of it. I don't trust it so I insisted on ordering.
I got chrysler employee discount (about 4% under invoice for the 2014 Durangos) + the incentives, which is currently $2000 off in Michigan, but the dealer will give me the incentives upon delivery in January if those are better than the ones I had when I ordered otherwise it'll stay at $2000 off. Note that that is OFF the EMPLOYEE PRICING number. Don't let the dealer tell you otherwise. Grand total was about 7-8% under invoice.
All in all, I ordered a 2014 Black R/T with tech package, tow group, and nappa leather group and it came to around high $39,000s. With tax, title, and license, it's around $42,600 or so. Invoice price on that specific vehicle with those options is $44,007 with destination included.
Ordering is really simple. Go to the dealer, tell them what you want and order it. They'll show you the invoice (request it, they have to show it to you), but you should get one of your own off the internet (any search will show you the invoice prices for vehicles and options and do your own calculations from there to get a ballpark figure). Verify the invoice price they're showing you is what you've calculated on your own. Then negotiate from there.
Never pay sticker unless you're a fool and YES they can go below invoice. They'll tell you that invoice is what they pay for the car. That's not true. There is something called holdback (which they don't have to tell you about) and they actually pay much less. Negotiate away from there ignoring financing and trade in and everything else.
Then talk about the incentives that chrysler is offering, ask about dealer incentives on top of that and place the order if everything feels right and you're happy. If not happy, leave and go somewhere else.
Placing the order usually requires a deposit (mine was $500 and refundable in MI) and you to sign the order. You'll get a VON (vehicle order number) and can track the progress though the factory. Delivery takes about 6 weeks presently. Final purchase is made on delivery and you peel out of the parking lot with glee and put those first few miles on her.

I wanted the same thing here in Michigan. Could not locate a 14 R/T without the captains chairs in the 2nd row. Seems Dodge shipped dealers ones with the captains chairs and sunroofs instead. As a result, I had to order. Which I prefer anyway.

14 white R/T with most options. Sticker 50350. Bench second row. Dealer stock. Bought for employee price less $2000 in rebates. I'm no employee.
$43576 plus tax on trade difference which was a 2013 durango citadel with Hemi.
14 R/T is a much nicer truck.

So are you saying you got about 10% off MSRP before the 2K in incentives?
That sounds like a good deal. I pretty much want the same thing, Tow,tech, nappa and the nav which Edmunds shows invoice at 44,363. I can't find anything close so I'll probably go the order route as well. Only incentives here in Virginia is 1K but it says you must take delivery by sometime in January and I'm not planning on ordering till after Christmas so I'm not sure what I'll be able to get. Do you know if Chrysler is consistent with incentives in terms of when they offer them or is it completely random?
