Default Want a new Black R/T Durango

Anyone here recently purchase a new R/T? Looking for a Black 2014 without the 2nd row tumble captains chairs and they have been really hard to find here in South Fl. What are some of your experiences with prices paid? Anyone get one below invoice? Anyone have any experience ordering one from the dealer? What kind of process would that entail?

Thanks

Search for all Dodge dealerships in your area and check their inventory and prices at each. In my area some list their discounts right on their site and others you have to go in and haggle for it. There is a $1k rebate right now. Look to get $4k off MSRP. I've seen a few giving as much as $5500 off 14's, all depends on your area.

I had to put $3000 down for my order at the dealer. Once its ordered that is non-refundable. They do a quick credit check and offer you some financing options but it won't be done till the vehicle arrives.

I test drove a black R/T this past week that the dealer had driven down just for me to test drive about 30 miles from their sister dealership because they had no 14's at all at that location. I found it strange they would drive a new one that far for a customer to test drive. I'm planning on ordering one as well in the next few weeks or into January. Although we didn't talk deposit amounts, the salesman told me any incentives at time of ordering are applicable and if there is a better mfr incentive at time of delivery, I could get that instead. He also said that if they get one in while waiting for mine and I'd rather have the one they have there's no problem applying the deposit towards that one. Now this was coming from a salesman so I take everything with a grain of salt. Check truecar.com and edmunds. Both are free and they will tell you invoice and what people are actually paying in your area. For me they say a little below invoice is average for an R/T with the options I selected.

Found one that is about 125 miles from me. Their listing a price only $1000 below MSRP (rebate)

$3000 non-refundable seems like an awful lot to put down for an order, unless you had already worked out a price and signed a sales contract.

Edmunds and truecar are showing around 7% off of MSRP as a price to shoot for. Seems like that is right around invoice price.

Thanks

If I went to buy a vehicle and they drive it 30 miles to get to me I would negotiate at a used car price.

When I started it up the odometer had about 60 miles on it. I guess that'll be their tester as it was going back to the other dealership after my test drive.

According to the dodge.com site a black 2014 R/T with 2nd row tumbles and no other upgrades would have a MSRP of about $42,500. Knock off 7 percent (per Edmunds et al) takes it to $39,500 and knock off another $1K bonus and you're down to $38,500 delivered. A downpayment of $3K for this doesn't sound out of place at all; that's only about 8 percent.

I was really close to buying a black 14 R/T last weekend. MSRP was $49,550 and we were at $43,618. I wanted $43K and walked away.

I have my eye on a black R/T, MSRP is $51.5K. I am going to try for $44K
