Winter tires are totally worth it. If you are worried about cost, price out one or two sizes down with steel wheels, they won't look good but it'll work, as long as you have a place to store it. AWD is good going forward not stopping and on a cold dark night with ice going around the corners.

How much is your deductible for a fender bender compared to the tires that can last you 2-3 seasons if not more.

I enjoy the driving quality in cold, winter days, snow and pleased with the perfomance.
The only thing i don't understand is next: When i start the engine in the morning (on totally cold engine) the beep sound of the dashboard comes kind of intermittently and gruffly... Anyone heard that too?

Agreed. The amortized cost of Blizzaks over 5 years is about $300 per year. Less than my deductible and far better than suffering injury. After 2 good snows here, the OEM's are fine for most situations but the heavy truck slides while braking on a decline. Snows should reduce this by almost 50% so I'm picking them up Monday.

Still very impressed with the stock 20's and AWD, dont feel the need for winter tires but we also get pretty accustomed to winter driving up here for half the year.

But I did find a EXTREMELY SERIOUS GRIPE with the DD. Was -20*F earlier this week and why on earth did they not make the gear shifter heated along with the steering wheel? It is driving me crazy!!!!

Blizzaks are sold out for the season. Have to get Pirelli Snow & Ice. $1,600 CDN plus tax installed.

How much shifting do you do that heat is an issue?

LCF…..are you starting it via remote? Because if you are, when you get in the vehicle you have to hit the start button to "engage systems" so to speak.

If not, you've got me stumped. One of the genii here will jump in with a solution I'm sure.

When i start it remotely of course i don't hear that)
If i start it while already in the car, then i hear that kind of sound. But it happens only in the morning on an absolutely cold engine...

Make a small video of the sound if you can.
