New to the D
Hello all, from CT
My wife and I are new(ish) 2011 Durango owners and really like the truck as it meets the needs of our family nicely. It is the Express model with the Pentastar V6. I am not new to Dodges or MOPAR vehicles as I also own an '08 Charger R/T and a 1987 Shelby Lancer.
Some things that have come up: Just this week I had to have the alternator replaced due to bad bearings at around 25,000 miles. That's a new record for me since my old K-car derivatives would blow them but not until 90-100k. They also replaced the rear lift gate struts since they weren't holding the gate open (fell on my head a couple times, which explains a lot
). When we took delivery of the truck, I noticed that the rear spoiler was creased near the third brake light. There was a decent gap that didn't seem to be from any damage, so I had that replaced also.
Overall though, good mileage and enough power to move around people when needed. By far this is the most active forum for 3rd gen Durangos I have found, so I'm just soaking up as much as I can about this truck. Thanks for reading!

Welcome man and good luck. Glad you are getting everything taken care of. Be careful coming in here, you will become a mod head in no time and have the wife wondering where the bank account disappeared to.
Congrats and welcome
Yes this your warning. Following this forum and watching pics and conversations will get you to spend money on things you ever thought of before and your wife will ask where money went and what happened to the truck.
i had a 11 Crew previously and had 43K miles before i traded it in for the 14 Limited. I didnt have to change anything in the truck. The only problem i had was the starting issue and traded it in before i had to fix it ;-)
Did you buy the Durango new or used?

I bought it used from a dealership in Nebraska, of all places. She came from a 2004 Toyota Highlander which was rock solid in the snow. I'm hoping this weekend storm will test the D and it will pass nicely. She's a beige car buyer (Toyota, Subaru, etc.) so getting her to agree to a Inferno Red Dodge was a bit of a challenge.
And thank you guys for the mod warning. So far, my other cars are only mildly modded. I think I might leave this one alone save for maybe a K&N and other ease-of-maintenance stuff.

Judging from the color of your carts I'd guess you're a dues paying member of RedSox Nation. :-)
