The sensor / camera for the auto high beams is located in the back of your rear view mirror. Make sure you don't have anything blocking it such as an ez-pass. If they are not working properly clean lens and if still no results have dealer check sensor for adjustment. Mine works exactly as it should when it detects an on coming vehicle pretty neat actually.

Auto high beams will only work with the light switch in the auto position; not OFF, not PARK lights, not ON (then the high beams work normally)

If the headlights are set to turn on automatically, then they will high beam automatically too.

Correct, but don't forget that you have to put the lever forward into the High beam position

1. In settings in the touchscreen go to LIGHTS and check auto high beams

2. select AUTO on head light dial which is lower left of steering wheel

3. Move turn signal lever into the forward position

4. Your information display where the speed is normally shown will display "AUTO HIGH BEAMS ACTIVATED". or something very similar

What trim D do you have and what options did you pick. Auto high beams aren't standard. On R/T, you need the nappa group. On limited, it's the convenience package.

So you also don't have rain sensitive wipers, power passenger seat, power tile and telescoping wheel, leather door panels, etc.

Lol. Check out the Mercedes S class for that. Reclining back seats with footrest, hot stone massage, and scent infused ventilation. No joke.
