Mods and lack of aftermarket support.
I thought it was tough going from a Charger to a Jeep WK1 from an aftermarket market standpoint. There are even less option for the Durango.
What mods have you done?

I am pretty upset about multiple failed mods, fog lights and running boards. Can't believe AutoAnything.com clearly stated the Romik running boards are for all '14 DD models and they absolutely do not fit the R/T. Much different than my aftermarket experience with my Vette

Its a pro and con. I liked it simply as I was 1 of 2 bagged durangos when I had mine. Not many had the brembo swap either. I think the limit of support makes you rely on truly customizing your vehicle not just order and install.
I've been contemplating selling my D for some time now. I bout it in 2011 with the hopes to do some type of high performance suv (similar to h TBSS). I went with the 5.7 Crew, knowing that I have never been a fan of Dodge factory leather, and could always or the R/T fascia's and springs. The fact is, the market is just not there. I have been a MOPAR guyy for about 9 years now (since I was 19), but have been seriously considering either fading the D for a Boss 302,or paying it off (not throwing any more money int modding it, and then getting the new Challenger or Mustang. Ford has definitely caught my eye over the last couple of years. Thoughts.
You can always swap a 392 into it if you want some power. I think a few Durango have done that swap. But you could always get an srt8 jeep which has more support than us. Heck you can at least get springs for them plus a twin turbo kit too. Sadly, my Nissan Juke has more support than the Durango.

It's no surprise really. The low volume of Drangos produced limits the potential for aftermarket suppliers to recoup their initial investment. And the target market is not hotrodders, but familys with other goals for their expendible income.
A Mustang? Like there are a couple million on the road, zero individuality in that ride. Of course there is a lot of aftermarket support - plenty of cars on the road and the target audience is guys who will more likely spend their money on the car. It's all about the $$$ for the aftermarket suppliers. If you need to mod and you don't want Mopar (SRT Challenger) then by all means go for what everyone else buys. ;^)
