Default Proud new owner & break in question

2014 RT in maximum steel

here's what i have been able to gather about the break in so far:
  • take it easy for first 500 miles.
  • keep the RPM/speed constantly changing.
  • no hard accelerating
question: should change the factory oil after the break in? if so, better to use traditional oil for the first change and eventually switching over to synthetic?

looking forward to contributing to the forum

thanks!

without further adieu, (havent had a chance to snap any pics besides the one below)

Read your owners manual to ensure you follow proper break in procedures. Oil is a personal preference. If the dealership gave a few free standard oil changes for purchasing the ride, ride them out and then switch up to a synthetic or any other oil you prefer. Just make sure it's the correct weight.

I waited for the oil change indicator for my first oil change. I have since followed up on it every 5k. Again just a preference.

Enjoy your new ride!

300-500 varied speed then as said above let her rip
Change oil at 1200-1500 miles Go Synthetic if you wish.
I went synthetic at 1200 miles and never looked back
