I just bought a 2013 Durango SXT w/ the Rallye Package.. It only has 9k miles and is certified used from the dealer...

I love it except for one thing, it has a custom exhaust on it! It is just too loud for me and frankly it just isn't my style. I know plenty of people like them, but I am just not someone who would put one on my personal cars..

I want my exhaust to be quieter! When I was purchasing the car, the dealer said they would take it off and replace it for an extra $900.. I passed and said I could live with it until I find a cheaper solution.

Well I took it to my guys at Midas today and they put it on the lift and we looked under it. They said it had an "x-pipe" welded on and a magnaflow exhaust.. They thought installing to resonators would help make it quieter but they didn't sound too sure..

From reading the forums it sounds like plenty of you have installed aftermarket exhausts... If you were in my situation what would you do? Will resonators make a difference? Should I have the whole system removed and replaced? If I remove the mangnaflow system will it be worth any money?

Is there anyone in Iowa/Illinois who wants to trade their stock system for my magnaflow?

 

Ralley is a 6 cylinder, curious how loud it is.

 

The ralley uses the dual exhaust from the R/T if I recall. You have duals correct Rob25?
If so you will need a Hemi exhaust system. Or another Ralley used.

 

Basically have them add a muffler or 2 small ones underneath in center of truck and if you have resonators already at rear all should be well

Yep I do have dual exhaust.. Honestly I would think some people would say it sounds good, it is just not for me. I bought this car for me and my girlfriend to travel long distances in and I am worried it might just get too annoying.


I have heard resonator don't necessarily make the car quieter, they just change the pitch of the sound.

 

Just get a different muffler.

 

If you live in Iowa, that's probably my 2013 Durango that I just got rid of. Is it grey with custom black stripes on hood?
