So I wonder which set up is better performance wise? The Ripp or the whipple? There's apretty drastic price difference in an already expensive set up. I have to say I like the appearance of the top mount style of the whipple better though.

whipple will give you more low end torque, there is no denying that.
whipple has confirmed the availability. But its weird that they have nothing posted about it, numbers, dynos etc. I'm sure the whipple will make great power, probably more then the ripp/vortech setup. Just that i'm not sure how well the transmission will take it. Ripp has a few dozen SRTs out there running nearly the same setup with the same transmission 8 speed transmission as the durango hemi, and so far no issues yet. Whipple has a few srt kits sold by tuners out there for the SRT as well, and it seems its really up to the tuner to get everything right and nice. Some kits are still not running all that well even today.

Looks like Ripp is just about finished with the final tweaks for the tune. They also have it listed now at a "sale" price on their website for delivery in a few weeks.

Wait... This kit is $6k "on sale" and won't make my Durango at the very least as fast as a stock SRT Cherokee?! Nah, I'm good.

it'll put out more HP/TQ, but to get it any faster, you will need to regear the transmission. I have a 7 seater vehcile because i need 7 seats, not 5. So this makes sense to some folks like me.

I agree with you . I was going to trade my wrangler with a 6.4 for an SRT 8 JGC and had the opportunity to drive it on a 1 k trip and it's nowhere near as comfortable as the DD. I'm presently torn between the Ripp and the Magnuson but have to wait until they are ready for the 2015.

FYI

I believe the transmission might different in the srt vehicles than in our durango's... Zf 8hp70 in all 5.7 hemi's and the zf 8hp90 in srt models. The last two numbers represent the max torque allowance... 70 model is 700nm and the 90 is 900nm

That puts the max torque rating at 516 foot pounds of torque for our durango's.

As per Wikipedia: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZF_8HP_transmission

*edit* zf 8hp90 is only in the hellcat models

So per their dyno video it's making 410TQ so there should be plenty left on the table there for it
