Ya, I browsed there yelp pages and 36 out of 39 were negative with horror stories just like mine. The only positive reviews were for batteries they sold on the spot for $80 more then there worth and the dumb people just don't know any better.

Hope you get them to pay for it all. Unbelievable that a tow guy who's job pretty much consists of towing, giving a jump, and bringing a gallon of gas can mess any one of those up. Makes me think even though I have AAA, I might call Chrysler roadside assistance first if I ever need help. If they mess it up, who can Chrysler blame?

Chrylser roadside assist just sends a standard tow truck driver so it wouldn't matter.

I was run off the road towing my boat with my RAM down I-4 in Orlando headed back to Jacksonville, got run into some thick mud I couldn't get out of. Had to pay the tow cost up front and Chrysler reimbursed me for it. All they did was strap to my tow hooks and drag me out, no damage.

I think you would stand a better chance getting them to cover anything that the tow guy did wrong. They are subcontracted out by Chrysler for a service that was included in the purchase price of your vehicle. Same thing with the OP's insurance company including tow service. The real problem is proving that they did something wrong like reversing the polarity when hooking up the jumper cables. If the vehicle falls off the wrecker on the highway and gets totalled, that's a no brainer who is at fault even though your insurance company will pay out, they will sue to get every dime from the towing company. JMO.

Initially I think your problem may have been a blown WIN fuse - had it happen to me before, but a quick fuse change solved the issue.

Read up a bit on it here: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...-with-win.html

Unfortunately, after the lunkhead tried to jump your car (which wasn't really dead until HE touched it), your fuse panel was toast and not just the original fuse that either blew or shifted out of position.

M27 is the WIN fuse and can lead to the trapped key experience.

Update. Truck is fixed. Here is the serves report....
Vehicle has no power as and key is stuck in the ignition, windows down./ car won't start perform inspection and found arcing marks at jump point indicating the cables were installed backwards. Removed block and foundblown internal fuse and also blown TIPM 40 amp fuse. Melted wires t1 and y7. Remove TIPM controller connection wires OK/ replaced main fuse block and TIPM 40 amp fuse and flash PCM new update/ all working to spec battery draw test none found.ok to deliver. $ 649.88

So the service adviser felt bad and when I got to the dealer he chopped off a bunch of labor so $409.11 out of pocket. Tow company will not return calls but my insurance has comitted to cover the charges. Hope all goes well with that!.

I caught the tech that did the work and his thought was that he wasn't sure what caused the initial no start but it could have been an issue with one if the replaced parts. So off to Disneyland fir my daughters bday tomorrow let's hope I don't get stranded 200 miles from the dealer.
Verdict::::INCONCLUSIVE

Glad it worked/is working out.

Insurance is right to cover charges.

I would contact the owner of the tow company just to inform him of the idiot he has working for him. Otherwise that moron will cost him more money.
