Glad the dealer was able to resolve and get you back on the road. PM your vin number.

I still would like to get DODGE CARES thoughts on why something that the engine can NOT run without is not covered under drivetrain warranty

Chrysler's factory warranty specifies what is covered under the 5 yrs/100,000 miles powertrain limited warranty. Powertrain coverage is for the internal components of the engine, transmission, all wheel drive, rear wheel drive and four wheel drive. The warranty booklet lists all the internal components for these systems and the alternator is not an internal component of any of these systems.

The alternator (electrical) is covered under the 3yrs/36,000 miles basic limited warranty.

Default Hard to start...

My 2012 Durango V6 took a couple of minutes (8 trys) to start. It would just crank the engine. I think it was not getting fuel. On try #6 &7 it would idle for a couple of seconds and die.
Then it ran fine. Has anybody had this problem and figured out the root cause? Is it the fuel pump or the electronics that control the fuel pump?
The vehicle has now 53K miles.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Default Update - 2 hours later

Let the Durango parked and tried starting it. First try idled for couple of seconds and died. Then on second try stumbled but it kept running.

Let it rest for 10 minutes and tried starting it. Got worse but after several trys got it running.

Called the dealer where I bought it and they're going to check it tomorrow.

I will post what they find on Saturday.

Wow, so between this and the alternator you are out almost 2,000 on a new vehicle, I'd be pissed too. I thought a recall or something was happening with the TIPM , so maybe you will get that money back at some point

There is a $75 fix for it.
