Ever Towed Anything?
I wouldn't even know how.
Went through the power wash on Friday and it knocked the cover off my hitch and I can honestly say it was the first time I ever saw the inner workings.

No, but you can put a device called the SuperBumper on it. It ensures that if someone rear-ends you that it messes up their vehicle more than yours. I pondered getting one, but decided against it after reading some discussions about liability. Now considering again...

I have about 25 trips this winter, RI to NH or Maine and never saw more than 11 mpg with my V-nose sled 2 place 2300lbs. 3300 lb boat I just got 14.5 hauling to NY. Did a 110 mile loop last night up near Lake Placid. computer said 22.1 after the trip. The AFE and Hyperchip help a little.
Hmmm. I've got the v6 and used it for towing and was wondering if I'd made the wrong choice, but after seeing these stats I think I wouldn't have gained anything with the v8. I pulled my 4500lb combo (trailer with car) 1721 miles through the southwest in September (some 100-115 ambient temps) with a 14.74 MPG average (actual, not computer readout).
Here's the load and elevation changes I had:

I've now towed my boat at about 4,500 lbs loaded, my lowboy trailer and jet ski trailer. The Durango at 15-15.5 mpg does better than my suburban 12-13 MPG and pilot 15-15 mpg,
And the Durango has tons of power to spare

I think a lot has to do with wind drag. Boats are sleek. The Durango is not that tall, so my trailer just sits there like a giant tall brick behind it. My Hi-Lo did much better as it was car height when towing.
