Default Best Windshield Wipers

Here's a fun one for you guys:

What windshield wipers do you use on your Durango? I always swore by the Rain-X latitude wipers on all of my past vehicles but I have had a hard time using them on my 2011 Durango Crew. They work great for about 2 weeks and then start streaking. Its not just a thin streak either but rather a wide smudge close to where the blade connects to the arm which is directly in the center of my line of sight. Thinking it was a bad blade I tried replacing it but the replacements had the same issue. Since then I have tried multiple type of contoured blades including the TRICO Onyx blades; all of which start smudging much earlier than they should.

I wonder if the contour blades just don't work well on the Durango or if possibly my wiper arm needs to be adjusted somehow? I have debated going back to the old school multi-pressure point wipers to see if they work any better.

So what do you all use?

Default wipers

Over the years, I have tried all aftermarket brands, from Goodyear, Rain-X, to Bosch and Valeo. They all streak after three months at most. Believe it or not, the Mopar wipers that the dealer sells are the only ones that I have found to last a year.

Isn't it nice. Pay good money for new blades and they chatter and streak and squeal.
They never look like they do in commercials.

CAUTION - Use at your own risk. When I lived in Nola ('89-'95), I saw an episode of "Motorweek" that addressed the chattering windshield wiper problem. Pat Goss showed how to use the GM product. I went to the local Chevy dealer and asked for it. The parts guy didn't know what I was talking about, but he eventually found it on a shelf. Here are the photos of the GM windshield cleaner that was repackaged "Bon Ami". If you look at a can of Bon Ami today, it says don't use on glass. Anyway, I have used this on several cars with excellent results and no problems. I would have no hesitation using on my '13 R/T.

Normal glass cleaner won't get the gunk off that causes the wipers to skip. The build up happens quickly if you use an automatic car wash that dispenses liquid wax.

GRIOTS GARAGE Makes a product as well

Yes, many times the crud is simply built up on the blades not the shield.

The question was why do brand new blades not work. No time for build up. it's the glass.....

Anything similar to Bon Ami you suggest to clean the windshield?

I still use Bon Ami. But there are wax removers out there. This stuff looks like it will do the trick. I may get some myself.
