From Jeep Forum:

Mopar's "New" NGK Iridium 100K mile plug for 5.7 L Hemi's.
Mopar # SP-143877AA MSRP $17.25 (They come pre-gapped @.044")
NGK # 1LZFR5E-11

It was developed by Mopar to be used in their "Police Package" 5.7L hemi engines. It's a Iridium plug made by NGK good for a 100K mile service life, made specifically for Mopars 5.7L Hemi engine. This is the new 100K mile sparkplug Jeep is using in all 2014 WK2 5.7L hemi engines and it can be used in earlier 2011~2013 WK2's as well.
So if it is ok for the JGC it is ok for use in our D's
STEVE

Lets see, $17.25 x 16 = $276.00. I think I will just continue to clean my plugs. Just saying!

Thanks bro for smacking us with some Knowledge.

Also Steve, thanks for posting the new info and I will definitely be using these new plugs when its time.

As a side note these two plugs...Mopar p/n SP143877AA (NGK Iridium 1LZFR5E-11). And
5.7 V8 Hemi (2011-2013)
Mopar p/n 05149177AB (NGK Yttrium ZFR5C-11).

Are both the same heat range as indicated by the #5..FR(5) 2 being Hot and 11 being cold on NGK plug scale.

You want to use the ones for the 2014 since they are going to last 100 K

Pardon my ignorance, but are there 16 plugs in this engine? I'll be up to 30K miles by the end of the summer. I've always changed my own plugs in my vehicles and haven't had to change them before 60 or 100 K miles since a 1996 Eagle Talon.

Anyone know if it is the same four cylinders that shut off when cruising or if the cylinders vary? I was thinking if it is the same four all the time, the more frequent change out was to keep them even. Although this is not likely.

I just replaced mine today with OEM NGK's (2011 Citadel 5.7). All in all, pretty easy...however, I did notice some dark discoloration on the driver's side plugs closest to the firewall.

Here's a pic - is this something I should bring to the dealer's attention? It's pretty clear that something is going on with that cylinder - what would cause that discoloration?

Could be caused by cylinder deactivation, I would definitely show the dealer
