One of the most difficult things to diagnose because so many components can cause it. I've seen it be everything from tire balance to wheel hubs to ball joints to u joints right on up to an inbalanced drive shafts.

First thing I'd do is get it road force balanced...

I just switched to a set of Conti DWS06 in 265/40/22 and the issue with the steering wheel shaking seems to be resolved. However I had them mounted at Tire Kingdom due to the dealer machine being broken and the wheel balance is off as I now get a vibration from the chassis (seats) around 75 mph. I have 90,000 mile service scheduled and I will have the dealer put the wheels on the Hunter machine.

Outside of the vibration the Conti tires are incredible rain or shine!

Default 2013 RT shaking

I have a 2013 RT and the steering wheel shakes considerably, it has new tires and 48,000 miles! I've recently noticed the harmonic balancer shaking at an idle, and it makes a considerably noise when driving and after starting and never goes away and the steering wheel shakes at 5-80 mph! Plugs were changed at 38,000 miles and tried to have them install 100,000 mile plugs and was told there having issues with coding and sensors not working correctly! I'm curious if the injectors could be failing! I run 93 octane as I recently installed the banks power tuner and have a mopar cold air intake on my 5.7! It feels like my cam is lobing or the timing chain could be going bad?

Do you have a reuseable air filter with that cold air intake? Have you ever cleaned and re-oiled the filter? If so, you may have over-oiled the filter (very easy to do!) and coated the MAF sensor with a film. A contaminated MAF could cause the issues you describe.

Now I'm trying to recall if our V8s have a MAF....

They don't. HEMIs use an Intake Air Temp sensor

I think you meant MAP sensor. Generally if a vehicle doesn't use a MAF sensor, they use a MAP sensor.

Yep; you're right. My 2008 HEMI has the IAT

Sadly my freeway speed vibration issue on my R/T, is tire related.

Bought new Nitto tires, to replace original OEM tires. Original tires lasted less that 24K miles. No vibration with the old tires.

I have had the new tires balanced and rebalanced and I still have freeway speed vibration.

I know it's the tires and not the R/T.

I had this issue up until I had my rear shocks replaced for a fourth time. The last time they changed the shocks they used a different type of shock. Just about a year later it appears they finally solved my rear end clunk and as a bonus I have also noticed my steering wheel vibration went away. Not sure if it is a coincidence, but if you have the original rear shocks but I would ask your dealer about changing your rear shocks as it seems it resolved my problem.

I am thankful to read about this thread. I have a brand new Durango and it does this. Brand new! I suppose I will play the games with the dealer for round one. And if not fixed I will be right in dodges face to resolve this. Unacceptable.
Hoping the fact I have a new Durango, a new dart, a newer ram Laramie and a jeep they will strive to give me more loving then the average customer. I have owned many Dodge vehicles, this is the first time I have had a new vehicle drive like an old car. Stay tuned ya'll.
322 miles on her and am extremely mechanical. Going to be fun I suppose. Ugh. Dammit!
Yeah, my wheel shakes.
