Hellcat Durango
Actually i'll tell you, in my country American cars were never popular. And more than that, people used to think that American cars are used to break often and to have a lot of problems.
But since the new design of the grand cherokees and the durangos - they are sold in my country very good and have great popularity now! and even more to say - they have very few problems. I mean people who bought them with thoughts like " I'm gonna have a lot of problems with it but the car is very good looking " are now like " Damn, American car is GREAT cz i have no problems with it " =)
So at least if you take my country - the sellings are very good (mostly with grand cherokees). When the restyle of cherokee came in 2014 - i saw a lot of them in streets just in 2 days after they begun selling'em. So, if you ask me - whatever price you put on a good quality and great looking car - people will buy it.

you know as much as I'd like to see it... they just can't make a Hellcat Durango.
the D's chasis and layout, with 707HP? deathtrap.
I love the D. its solid. it handles almost like a car. its an extremely well put together vehicle that happens to be a 3 row, 7 seater SUV. that looks badass.

but 707HP is a monumental number. its a challenge for the Charger and Challenger to even use that power. read all the reviews. the 275mm tires can't even put all that to the pavement.
now take that and put it in a 5,000 lb+ vehicle with the higher center of gravity that the D has? no way.
a JGC SRT Hellcat with mandatory AWD... maybe. just maybe.
but not a Durango Hellcat. it just wouldn't work.

Not only does it have the longer wheelbase, also it has a lot better front to rear weight ratio (50:50). The R/T also has a lowered suspension already which also improves the handling.
There is NO reason to NOT put in a Hellcat engine into the DD. The only reason could be the diffs from front to back but even that is solvable. With the AWD and perfect 50:50 weight distribution it would be a great car. Even if it is just 650HP ;-)

Heck i researched the crap out of the Durango when i shopped between this and the regular Grand Cherokee, and the SRT.
I knew i had to get my 7 seats for emergency situations. So i went with the compromise where the Durango should be a notch under the SRT in terms of handling.
I have tossed my durango into turns designed for 15mph at 70+, and at 30mph turns at close to 100 without issue. I have about 550 hp/tq at the crank currently. I would imagine that the engineers at chrysler/dodge/jeep can do a few upgrades here and there to make it handle much better without an issue.

They need something a lot more majestic ("Teton" might work) or threatening (Raptor and Cobra have been taken but there are still dozens of carnivores or poisonous insects/reptiles etc. out there).
Something more evocative of the open range (kind of like the Jordan's 1923 ad, "Some where West of Laramie . . . ") and unsurpassed and untamed brute power and dangerous. Trailhawk doesn't cut it.
