Default Eco-Diesel any chance in Durango

Any rumors on this drive train for the Durango as it seems like a natural?

Certainly not in the near future. With a total redesign for 2016 MY it'll be a few years until you'd see any major changes again.

That coupled with the fact that VM Motori is still operating out of the same single plant in Cento, Italy it's been in since 1992 AND an increase to 3.0 Ecodiesel engines in 20% of Ram 1500s for 2016 means there won't be any capacity to turn out for any vehicles except Rams and Grand Cherokees.

Total redesign for the '16's? Where did you hear this? I thought the redesign was set for MY 17.

This is the engine in question http://www.vmmotori.com/l630-dohc/au...-630-dohc.html.
I doubt that there is a capacity problem on the factory side, it is more likely that there is a very weak demand for such an engine in the USA on the Durango.
Only if FCA plans to export the Durango officially in the EU, where diesel is generally cheaper than petrol, it makes sense for them to offer this engine.
They do offer it on the Gran Cherokee right because it is the only engine their customers would buy a Grand Cherokees with in the EU. All the ones I have seen in Italy and in Germany are diesels. In years I have seen only one with a HEMI, and it was an older model.
