Durango
Finally, for fans of extra-macho family vehicles, Dodge indicated that the current Durango will be refreshed again in early 2017. A thoroughly retooled model was just launched in the middle of last year. While this would make the Durango very, very long in the tooth by the time it’s ultimately redesigned in 2019 or beyond, it’s currently among our favorite SUVs and one of the only ways to get a rear-wheel-drive ute on the relative cheap, so we’re cool with waiting little longer for an all-new model.

I've read 2015, 16 and 18. Not sure which to believe.

I really hope it doesn't end... just got my '15, my first dodge ever, and it's the best SUV I've owned or driven (and I've had quite a few)... really hope they refresh and keep it around...
Gas is cheap now and they should be selling a lot of them... and with no other real SUV in their lineup why would they discontinue the Durango?
In any case, hope they don't.... if they do what happens to value on existing ones? Guess it goes down the drain??

I can't see it being discontinued. Although sales aren't near the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Durango is still a VERY STRONG seller. The only negative from FCAs standpoint is that it does take a pretty big hit on government mandated MPG numbers. Can you say Ecodiesel???
The few contacts I've made over the years who are still at Chrysler give me conflicting stories. I've heard it's done, I've heard that there will be a late '16 offered 2nd quarter 2016 and I've heard they are skipping '16 in favor of a redesigned '17.
I guess only time will tell...

We'll hope for the best... MPG's aren't really any worse than some other cars/ trucks out there. i.e. the Tahoe, expedition, camaro, Yukon, mustang, Chevy SS, Cadillac Escalade, etc? In any case, I hope they keep the Durango alive!!

The problem is not what gas costs (which btw a guy on another forum I moderate said he paid $1.95 for 87 octane in NJ this morning) but rather that the next CAFE step hits for 2016 model year. To comply, automakers must average 35.5 mpg across the board.Originally Posted by Heat00
besides, oil is at or under $40/Barrel today! why is MPG such an issue? I got gas today at $2.30/Gallon.
The next major hurdle will be the Obama administration passed 54.5 mpg in 2025. Looks like by then, the population will be driving little European type cars. Also, for the first time, large trucks (3/4 ton and up) will no longer be exempt...
