Default Cel p2096

Hello, I have a 2013, 2 wheel drive, V6 Durango. I'm having an intermittent issue with the vehicle idling rough, hesitating under acceleration, sometime more noticeable in reverse oddly. I have had the CEL pop up a few time only to go back out shortly after. This last time it came on and did not go away. Took the vehicle to the dealership with CEL on and they pulled up this code, P2096. Dealership says O2 sensors need to be replaced, this seems premature to me as the vehicle has 64,000 miles. Anyone have any insight into this issue? Thanks

Here's some things you can check.

I would suggest following the dealership's diagnosis if that is the repair they recommended. Do you notice any specific conditions when your symptoms occur?

How old is the battery? My Gen 1 SLT behaved strangely when the batt was about to fail. Rough idle being the main symptom.

No it seems to be random the light has been off for a few days now and seems to be running normal again, I did happen to find a small hole in one of the welds in the exhaust pipe downstream from the o2 sensor, there's a trail where black soot/ liquid has been leaking from it, is that normal to be present in the exhaust and also could that hole cause the bad reading from the sensor?
