Default Lug nut key!?!?!

It's me again posting a bunch of stuff regarding my new/old Durango purchase :-) Thanks for the input and help.

Here is a perplexing question:

Why doesn't my expensive/unique wheels on my Durango have some sort of anti-theft lug nut on them? I remember looking before I purchased. But, now it's a concern. My Xterra had a unique key and corresponding special anti-theft lug nut on all my wheels. Why doesn't my Durango have the same thing?

Has anyone else purchased something to prevent theft. If so what type of device.

Jerry

I suppose it could be an option added at the time of purchase. There are plenty of aftermarket solutions available for locking lug nuts. Your local parts store will have them as well as tons of places online.

They are called wheel locks and they're not standard. They are a dealer installed option or you can obviously do it yourself as well. Plenty of different options out there.

The Mopar ones are here:

I have a set on my Durango and another on my 2015 Charger.

Thanks for the link. These are chrome - do they make it in the black color of my wheels (I have the blackout package).

God how I hate that site. I search for wheel lock and get every vehicle. I select 2015 Dodge Durango, click on wheels, and I do not see Wheel Locks!

I would believe these should just come with all wheels packages directly from Dodge. These wheels are not cheap, and I'm sure are a desirable theft item.

Some question on another site.

Some dude stated these were the ones to go with:

Does everyone put all wheel locks at all positions - or just one per wheel?

One per wheel. More than that is overkill.

I agree. Most places sell a 20 pack.

It seems like every buys Gorilla lock nuts P/N 96643BDX.

That is total overkill. They sell those in a 20 pack so you only have to have one socket to remove them all. Just get a 4 pack and put on one per wheel.
