Default Radio not recognizing USB drive

I decided to update my music selections on my radio so I deleted every song I previously uploaded using a thumb drive.
Next I select "add music" and installed my thumb drive into the USB port. The screen changed and I selected the "front usb" port option, but nothing happened. I gave it several minutes to acknowledge it but it was in vain.
Then I found this sight and saw the suggestion to upgrade the firmware; mine was on 20.01......(don't remember).
I downloaded the 33.01.23 iso file and burned it to a CD. I also downloaded the 50.01.01 iso file and burned it to another CD.
Next I upgraded the firmware to 33.01.23 and then to 50.01.01; thinking this would fix the problem. It didn't I still cannot upload any music to my radio.
I'm looking for ideas of where to start testing. The local dealer said they would look at the radio for $119.00 and that was only to upgrade the firmware, it would be additional charges to troubleshoot the USB issue.
Has anyone else dealt with this?

Thanks for your time.

Thread moved and re-opened. Hopefully this is the correct section for the vehicle you own.

Hi Larry,

What kind of radio is in your Durango? Additionally, what kind of USB drive are you using, and are the files formatted to either MP3 or WMA? If it is over 32GB, it will likely not work with the vehicle.

Default 2011 Durango Crew radio usb issue

The radio is an oem. It has a CD player, satelite, am/fm, and the ability to upload mp3 and jpeg files to it via the usb port.
I've tried both 2.0 and 3.0 usb drives. One of the drives has an led and it flickers when pushed into the port so there is power to the port.
I've tried both a 16gb & 8gb thumb drive.
When I select "Add music" a new screen pops up where I select either a CD or the Front USB; both are grayed out?

Thanks Larry, I'm sorry I wasn't more specific--can you let me know the type of radio--looks like for the 2011 you would have these options: 730N, 430N/RHB, 430/RBZ.

Thanks!

Kori,
I'm not sure where to look for this information. All I can find is the software info.

Well, it looks like I stumbled on the fix.

I was looking for something in a desk drawer and found an "ancient" thumb drive, 4gb in size. I decided to give it a try and the radio recognized it. The only problem now is I have to do the upload to the radio is segments. I have about 16gb of music I want to upload so I will have to do it segments.

I would like to thank those who tried to help me.
