Question New Tranny on a 2017 Citadel Already???

Howdy folks,

Just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue that I'm having....

I leased a 2017 DD Citadel with the V6 engine back around Thanksgiving and recently noticed something strange. In a nutshell, when I lay on the accelerator hard (I'm talking through the floor), the engine revs, but the truck doesn't move. Doesn't matter how fast I'm moving or what gear I'm in. Eco on/off, Sport on/off - it doesn't matter.

After a week or so at the dealer, they just called me back and said they are replacing the transmission with a new one. So, my question is, do I have any recourse here? I really hate the idea that my "new" DD isn't really new anymore. Can I open a case with Chrysler and tell them I want out of the lease?

Thanks!!

nope.

Let them fix it. It under warranty for the rest of the lease. You have a long time to test this vehicle to make sure its fixed right. If your not happy give it back at the end of the lease.

You could talk to sales about getting out of the lease by buying another new vehicle but it will cost.

Thumbs down Update...

UPDATE: Got a call from the dealer on 27-Jan... After extensive testing, the original problem still exists! Their latest explanation is that there is a problem with the fuel pump.

I'm wondering if they broke it during the transmission replacement. Jeeeezzzzzz!!! Now I really want to give it back!

Hi Issemann,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. If you'd like me to provide any follow up to the dealership, I'd be happy to do that. Just PM your VIN if I can assist.

Much appreciate Kori. I already opened a case with Chrysler and spoke to the case manager assigned to me. She has been very nice and understanding of my situation and offered to compensate me for my troubles.

While I was very grateful for her offer, I told her that I am ultimately looking forward to having all of these issues resolved and get back into my vehicle.

Thanks anyway!!

Curious if the fuel pump issue was resolved. I've been comparing about the tranny on my 14 Limited since day one, with answers like "that's good is supposed to be", or "it'll learn and adapt". Had some slight success with a PMI update about a year ago, and found turning off Hill Climb helped, but now it's back to its old sluggish, gear hunting self again. Maybe even worse than before. If it's indeed "learnng", its not from me!
