Default Cylinder Misfire on a 2016 citadel

I'm really pissed and disappointed right now. My 2016 citadel has 12k miles on it and when I hit the gas getting on the highway, the whole car started to studder and an error message regarding the auto start stop popped up on my cluster. Then the auto start stop warning light as well as the check engine light both were on. I stopped the car and restarted it. That cleared the auto start stop but now the car shakes and studders anytime I give it gas.

Plugged in my code reader and the dreaded P0302 code popped up. Drove it to the dealer and all they could do was confirm the code and schedule me 11 day away for an actual diagnosis. At low speed I can hear a clunk clunk clunk sound and again the car studder when gassed at higher speeds. Not to mention if I'm in neutral, I can't rev past 3k rpm.

Those that have had this in the past what should I be expecting? Engine swap?

Sorry to read this.

The manufactures warranty should cover the cost.
Keep us posted.

They think it's a faulty lifter. We'll see if this pans out on Friday.

Three months later, I'm still misfiring on Cylinder 2 and the car is officially a lemon. Waiting on Chrysler to make a decision.

To rub salt in the wound, Chrysler denied my rental car reimbursement claim for the first break down ($500+) because it was not part of the warranty?!??! wtf is that? The car broke down at 12k miles and I couldn't drive it, what more do you need?

There has got to be more to the story. How in the world could they deny that? Did the dealer that initially told you to wait 11 days before the vehicle would be serviced tell you NOT to drive it? Or more importantly, did you tell THEM you wouldn't?

Any update on this case ??? FCA has been dropping the ball on buybacks this year. All of them that I'm aware of anyway.

An extreme shortage of technicians and pathetically slow parts can't be helping the situation either.

Completed my 30 days for Chrysler to fix the lemon. They diagnosed it as Cylinder 2 failing to maintain compression. Ordered a brand new engine for it but it will not arrive in time to be within the 30 days. I told my regional guy that I no longer want another Durango and that I'd like a buyback. Working with a third party now to go through the buyback process.

@Prospect62 I told my dealer that the car literally emailed me telling me to not drive it anymore LOL THeir earliest appointment date is 11 days. Until a tech can verify what's wrong with it, they cannot issue me a loaner. I called Chrysler and explained to them my situation and the operator told me "sure, just keep your receipts and send them in later to be reimbursed."

Now they're saying "that operator should not have told you that"

The durango is officially being called a lemon and I am going through a third party for the paperwork. The usage cost isn't as bad as I would've thought...$0.25 x miles

Basically they had the car for a MONTH and on the 4th week said that they can't figure out why the 2nd cylinder would not hold compression. So they ordered a new engine for me to swap out. However, that engine would not have arrived in time to meet the 30 day deadline since I sent the certified letter. My regional guy asked if I wanted another Durango, and I said "please just buy it back."

Pretty sure this will be my last Chrysler product...
