Default check engine light

Guys, I have a 2015 durango and just out of warranty. A couple days after oil change at the dealer, the check engine light is on. Get a the following codes:

P0440-GENERAL EVAP SYSTEM FAILURE
P0441-EVAP PURGE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

Did a quick search and found that most of time it's fuel cap issue. But the durango is capless.

Anyone has similar issue? Any suggestion?

Thanks.

Hello campus,

If you do decide to get this check engine light looked at by the dealer, let us know. We'd be glad to get this over to a Case Specialist who'll work with you and the dealership toward a solution.

Thanks for the information Jasmine. The car is less then 3 years old but the mileage is over the bumper to bumper warranty. Do you think this will be covered by powertrain warranty?

We do have teams that look into goodwill assistance options. It based on a number of factors. Send me a direct message with your VIN. It wouldn't hurt to forward it for consideration.

I may be mistaken, but in the past the warranty for emissions control devices was far longer than the standard bumper to bumper warranty. A car that is 3 years old simply should not have ANY emissions systems issue, I would be surprised if you were made to pay for this repair.

I would try working with Dodgecares first to see if this can be resolved.

Then whatever replaced the cap. But like the previous poster said, if it's an emissions issue it ought to be covered.
