Reliability
The TIPM can cause other issues like no power windows, locks, wipers. I had mine rebuilt good as new. (2013)
Be careful with 4000-5000 pounds of trailer behind a durango. Ive seen more than a few suv/trailer combos where the tail wagged the dog right of the side of the road.

How much maintenance is there on the 4WD version just out of curiosity ? How much is said maintenance on the 4WD ? Right now Im planning on RWD even here in upstate NY . I have survived the last 10 winters in my RWD Ascender without much issue . To me it just seems like another potential break fix issue plus the added weight you lose 1 mpg .

and you lose 300 pounds of tow capacity. AWD probably has a reduced tow capacity vs part time 4wd and 2wd systems.
if your ok in the winter.....only problem with 2wd is when you try to sell it.
