Default Confused

Recently joined the mopar family. I bought a used 14 Dodge Durango 5.7 rear wheel drive citadel. I had the transmission module changed by the dealer. A week later while approaching a stop sign I heard a noise from under the truck. When I tried to move, it only revved the engine. It'll go into park, but only revved in drive & reverse. Pushed it across the intersection to the other side of the street, called a tow truck, took it back to the dealership. After a wk they said the rear end is locked up & it'll cost $2000.00 to be fixed. My confusion & question is, how can I push a vehicle across the street, & the tow truck driver pulled it on to the flatbed with a Locked Rear End.. I'm Confused. Thanks..

Think I would have a chat with the service manager. If you can push it, it ain't locked up. Someone there doesn't know what they are doing.

Maybe the flatbed driver set the parking brake after getting the Durango off the bed and the tech/service writer didn't think to check if the parking brake were on or notice the red "Brake" indicator on in the instrument cluster? Still not a locked up rear end though....
