Default Shifting Issues

On my 2012 durango, I have shifting issues. It will start out and drive, but when I stop at a stop sign or stop light, sometimes if feels as if its not in gear. I'll get the RPM's up to between 2-3000 and it will slowly take off. Then sometimes it seems as if it starts out in overdrive. What could be causing this?

Thanks

Hi cmcpeek1, Sorry to hear you are experiencing this concern, we certainly understand why this would be concerning. If you end up addressing this with your local Dodge dealer, please let us know via PM. We'd be more than happy to provide you with an additional layer of assistance for that process.

You most likely have a 545RFE transmission. Have you had the transmission filter replace. Or the side plate on the valve body snapped the bolts off. Which would cause shifting problems. You would have 1st and 2nd gears and then nothing.

I have had the fluid and filter both replaced. It acts like I don't have 1st and 2nd gear when it acts up. It's an intermittent issue as it doesn't always do it.

Did you have that problem before the filters being replaced?
