Anyone know what this might be an indicator of?


engine has been idling slightly slower than normal. Coolant levels have not changed noticeably.

2021 Durango. V6. Water pump still feels tight.

 

Without seeing more of the engine, I think it's the weep hole seeping on your water pump. However, being a '21, unless you really pile the miles on, it should still be under warranty. I'd let the dealer deal with it.

 

I agree with the above, sure looks like a leaking water pump. At least on the V8s, some have been known to leak with pretty low miles on the odometer.

I have pretty close to 130K on it. Is that a sign it could be going out? As far as setting the rest of the engine, thus is the only place anything at all is leaking. And this is a very slow leak. Hardly anything changes even in a week. I drive a LOT. ​​​​

 

Yes. Leaking from the weep hole means it is going out. Use your warranty if you have any left.

 

On the V8 at least the water pump is not too difficult to replace if you've ever done a waterpump before. From the picture, the water pump on the V6 doesn't appear too bad to change either.

Sakes, I though I drove a lot. 130K in 2 years? I'd say the pump is on its way out. Fix it now while the weather is warm or it will fail and you'll be stranded when the snow blows.
