So you'd rather have a more restrictive muffler than a free flowing one just because you don't want your cats? And you had to all of that just to get your torque back to where you started out at? Sounds to me like you wasted alot of money just to get nowhere. My state doesn't require cats either but I'm not running out and cutting off my cats. But do as you please.

I cut off my stock cats and muffler and put on a cherrybomb extreme. It took me 10 minutes. And it'll take me 5 minutes to put on my new cherrybomb pro. $45 each for the mufflers and now I have an extra one in case I just want it loud. So, if 15 minutes of work seems like a lot to you, well, I don't know what to tell ya. The CAI was inexpensive and a piece of cake too(attach to tb, tighten and drive.) I guess we just have different opinions on what's time consuming and expensive. $100 and less than an hour ain't bad in my book.

I think in the internet world, you call this trolling??

pretty much what every one is trying to say is that. Takeing out cats, and losing power when putting on a "power adder". Is pretty obvious.

Are we missing something and running with out cats is more bad *** then the OEM HIGH flow cats.

Lets just leave the troll alone

Less back pressure equals better flow period!

Yeah but not with our trucks.
Like we have all said the only way to get around this is to trick the computer. Your computer is the boss of your truck and it makes more descions and more HP than you do, lets face it we arent driving around carburated cars any more so simpily more air more hp isnt the answer neither is less restrictive exhaust. You dont have to have cats but i would put an all stock truck against any one who didnt have Cats any day.

Can someone who understands fluid dynamics chime in? Lol. I'm sure science could solve this issue

Isnt the loss of back pressure, screwing with torque values?? So your going to want some sort of restrictive exhaust. But by getting rid of exhaust manifolds and going to tubular headers would lessen the pressure between cylinders? Yet that increases performance numbers. It seems we do need an engineers opinion.

We've hijacked the CAI sticky and turned it into A trollling exhaust thread.......... poor thing

So much back pressure lost would be the reason of failing parts. Its setup to run stock so the more your tinker with it the worst off it is, unless you beef up parts or buy parts to go with other performance parts.
Dropping a little back pressure like i did just by getting rid of the muffler is about all i would do, because like i said to much lost is bad, although i would like a set of long tube headers but the money isnt right to spend 500 bucks to move around all the parts like Cats and o2 sensors.
