just changed mine an hour ago. I've been using 5w-30 Pennzoil High Mileage with a PureOne filter (local Advance auto always has it on Oil Change Special sale). Hasn't given me any issues. I've been changing oil/filter every 5k miles. Truck just rolled 105k (4.7L)

Mobile 1 Delvac(dino) 15W-40 with a Wix filter...I've put a hard 160k on my '04 Hemi and the Delvac keeps it quieter than anything else I have tried. I need to convince my dad to do the same...his '03 Hemi with 305k is getting to be one noisy ****.

Ran Mobile 1 on my first oil change, switched to Royal Purple on my second which resulted in my hemi tick getting louder. On my next oil change I'm going to try Valvoline.

Just did another oil change, And decided it was time to change from Dino, to synthetic.

But wasnt there a rumour of swtiching from dino, to syn in one switch, would create to much of a change, and cleaning of the engine, and would create probems, like oil pressure loss due to pick up tube being blocked... Pretty sure ive read that on here.

So I did a semi 1st. ( Mobil 1 semi)

Ive only got 70k kms on the truck. so im assuming i wont be having that much trouble with it.

I also switched directly from dino oil to Mobile 1, both my car and truck, no problems. But as many people have pointed out here, most "full synthetics" are not 100% synthetic.

I really think the whole "stages" of switching idea is an old concept. Modern dino oil and synthetic oil are not so different. Synthetic doesn't necessarily have more detergents, scrub your engine, or smaller molecules than dino oil. Pure synthetic oil like Royal purple or Amsoil might be a different, but I haven't heard a 1st person complaint about switching to oils like Mobile 1.
