Looking to replace the exhaust on my 2002 1500 5.9 4x4 quadcab, longbed. Should I go with a bolt on catback exhaust (thinking Gibson), or a custom exhaust with a magnaflow muffler? I live in CA so it must be CARB legal. If I go the custom route, what type of magnaflow muffler would I need? What size piping?

Well if you do custom then you can pick sizing either 2.50 or 3 inch piping, and size of muffler Is totally up to you smaller muffler= louder, so depends on what your really looking for or you could go with the Gibson catback which I have never read a bad review about

i had no cats running into the stock y pipe then going into one super 44 1 in 2 out, into two angle cut tailpipes right out the back, ridiculously loud, sounded good around 1500 to 1900 rpm after that it was like straight pipes, so now i changed it actually yesterday to no cats running straight into the magnaflow tru x crossover, going into 2 seperate borla xr-1 racing multicore mufflers and each muffler goes to its own tailpipe (i guess kind of considered true dual? not sure if it is still with the x pipe) a lot lower volume but the quality of the sound, is amazing plus the x pipe gives me back just enough of the back pressure that i lost before, the 2 borla mufflers gave me my torque back and an amazing sound, getting used to the lower db, but it is probably a normal level, just used to the airplane i was driving for a while

not sure if i need to mufflers or could have gotten a way with one with 2 out into the tailpipe, but i'm super happy going with the extra one, but damn borla is expensive but worth it, 250 a piece, but like i will say a thousand times worth it, although i've only had it one day, so i might have to change my tune in a little, i hope not though

Do you get any highway drone in the cab? Did you cut out the resonator as well? Sounds awesome on your video!

Hey check out my video! Tell me if you like my setup! Magnaflow X-Pipe and 2 Super 10's(equivalent) Better sound quality with headphones or good speakers. Some computers are not able to play the low frequencies well
