Superchips Questions and Updates
#1181
I've only done limited testing so far - was plumber, electrician, painter,... at my daughter's house this past weekend and my son's Blazer is in the shop so he's been driving my truck to work.
I started by loading PT 1-4 up/down RPM Friday evening and BOY DID IT KICK A$$. However, I wanted to start from a known state so Saturday morning I changed all settings to "Superchips". (Three options for each setting Stock, Superchips, and User.) The truck seemed somewhat sluggish after but I want to run it a bit to see if it feels better.
I also re-calibrate the throttle after each tune to get a good base for throttle response.

Not sure if I worded it right but is some thing like this a possibility?

As far as safety with the new SC tuning options, let me share this with you guys:
I intentionally tried to "fool" the tuner to see how it would respond. I set my tuner to upshift from 2nd to 3rd with 59% throttle position at 86 mph. I then set it to downshift from 3rd with 59% throttle position at 85 mph. This would have caused an endless loop of upshift-downshift-upshift-etc until the throttle position was changed. Obviously, this would destroy a trans quickly. The tuner did not allow this to occur. It readjusted the 3rd gear downshifts to appropriate levels based on the 2nd gear upshifts.

As per usual, excellent feedback George!
