i just vought a brand new 3865 off truckcustomizers.com the other day for $285. received it in 2 days.

 

Thanks for the tips. I read the thread about what happened to you jusjay. glad you got it straightened out and the hoser got his in the end. will the 3825 for the magnum or 300C work with our trucks? I'm leaning towards the truckcustomizers.com deal, but if I can get a 3865 off of someone here, i'd rather keep the money in the forum.

I want to order the superchip 3865 from truckcustomizers.com...the only thing kind of holding me back is if I will really feel the difference. The 3865 is suppose to give my 2008 4.7L 48hp/50lb tq, because of the factory has really detuned our 2008 4.7L. Is it true, anybody use it on 2008 4.7L, basically is it worth it?

 

its worth it on my 04 i have less hp than you do stock and i love mine...i mean dont expect it to make your truck a rocket like 350z or something cause thats not gonna happen just from a tuner....but they are well worth the money....

 

The 08 4.7's are severely de-tuned. The Superchips will wake up your 08 for sure.

i have an '07, which is only like 235hp stock. i just bought the 3865 and i can feel the difference. i used the 87 tune for a week until i ran that tank out. the biggest difference was shift points. i baby my truck so i don't care how high it revs but it used to upshift at a very low RPM. as soon as i came up to a slight grade it would downshift again. thats gone. the 87 tune is only like 8-10hp but i can feel a little difference. i filled it up with 93 the other day and put the performance tune in and i can definitely feel the 18hp.

as for mpg, just a quick comparison it looks like 1.5 to 2 mpg better with the 87 tune. i can't confirm how accurate those numbers are yet but they seem to be pretty close.

i say go for it, you'll be happy.

 

Will it give me the edge to stay with, or beat a stock hemi,titan 5.6,etc?
If the hp gains are correct then I should be at the same amount of horseeees as a stock hemi,Right? I know im a little over board trying to compare to the almight"HEMI", but just curious of yall's thoughts/opinions

 

As you can tell by my Sig. It most CERTAINLY woke up mine up and then adding the 4.56's simply make me spin my tires too easily. I jumped the gun and went backwards with my mods haha (Gears before Lift/Bigger tires).

As far as the tuning goes. I've done the calculations in the 87 and 91 tunes. And even with the gas price difference my mileage is, for me anyways, well worth it to go with the 91 performance tune for horses and mileage. (Any long term damage running 91 in the 08 4.7L [Non-flexfuel] instead of the recommended 87 ?)

Still anticipating the word of mouth from 08 4.7L beta testers when they eventually come around
