I was kind of hoping it was going to add better throttle response and better downshifting, but the truck appears to still have its typical bog sessions and its slow reaction to downshift when going up hills or when trying to pass somebody. Any input on my observation? Am I just being stubborn and expecting too much or what?
well, from what has been said in the bazillion pages of this post is that the new updates and enhancements coming out SOON will take care of all those concerns.

But from what I have read the updates won't have any effect on my 03..... I know I won't be able to adjust shift points but will some of these "new" features be available for my 03 ?

Here are a couple of things to try to give you a better feel.

1) Remove your positive (+) battery cable and ground it to any good ground for 30 seconds. This will erase all "learned" data in the PCM and force your PCM to re-learn how you drive and any new additions. You will have to reset the time but, your radio stations will be kept.

2) Recalibrate your throttle. I've been told this will work on the '03s with the throttle wire. Turn the key to ON (do NOT start), mash the throttle to the floor and hold for 10 seconds. With the throttle still at the floor, turn key to OFF and continue to hold the throttle to the floor for 10 more seconds. Slowly release the throttle. This will give you much better throttle response.

If you are going to do both, do them in the order listed.

Let us know if it helped you.

ok 05 beta tester here:
i took my tune off the other day since i had to go to the dealer for some work done on my truck. Now before i took the tune i would average about 280-285 per tank. I take a 3hr trip about twice a month and my tank always ends up with alittle below half when i get there...

so now since i had the tune off and i didnt have time to put it back on so i fillled up and looked at my gauge... 315miles?? i was like ok thats cool. I went on my trip yesterday and i get there with a little above half way....

so is the tune really hurting my mpgs that much?? im running 89 octane on the 87 tune... thanks

i only ran the performance tune for 1 tank but got about 1.5 mpg better on that tank. i now have the tow tune in and have went through 2 tanks. i'm getting about .8 mpg better with it. stock was about 12.2 and i was just under 14 with the performance and about 13.1 with the tow tune.

my thoughts, no scientific data, are that the performance tune will help more at over 3000 RPM while the tow tune will probably provide better torque and a little more HP under 3000 RPM.

I just bought a superchips 3950 for my 09 RAM 1500. I updated it online and when I tried to program my truck I received an error code G-6F and a general program error 3 data base. In need of assistance.

Thank you

go here and search for that error.

https://www.superchips.com/forum/

You'll also need to enter a trouble ticket at www.superchips.com

Read up on that error on their forums and you'll see what happened and find some answers. Ron is good help over there. You wont get any help until monday since they are closed on the weekends but you'll at least get to read what others have written about the error over there.

Call superchips or go onto the website JoeHemi posted and leave a message there with your info Vehilcle, programmer model and programmer serial #. They will open a trouble ticket. Not all trucks are the same so whaen a different dodge tunes/PCM's come up they have to put together a tune to cover your truck. There will be people with '09's coming across this problem until the different dodge tuning/PCM's for '09's are covered.

For my Diablo, the 91 tune actually gave better mpg's than the 89tune did or 87 whatever they have. When I raised my shift points, I gained even more mpg's. i'd try that.

I don't know if this is a stupid question, but when I received my superchips, was I supposed to hook it up to the computer to update it, or is what came with it the only options it has available at the moment? Just wasn't sure on that...thanks.
